CARVE

The world's best selling Freeride range returns stronger than ever. Windsurf magazines the world over applaud these "fun to ride" designs and the test results speak for themselves...
Several authoritative magazines see the Carve range as the freeride reference and use the Carve boards as benchmarks while testing other boards or sails as they combine that fun feel and perform at all levels. The full Carve line feature the versatility of inside and outside strap inserts; outboard for that sporty slalom feel and inside for easy sailing and superb jibing. Each Carve design sports the trademark 45 degree bevel rail concept ensuring fast, forgiving turns, great release and unprecedented levels of control.

For 2004, there are 2 new models; the radical Carve 90 which not only is short but has relatively deep concaves, and the brand new Carve 161, a large freeride sensation which even went beyond the expectations of our development crew.

EVO

More accessible, more fun and EVOlving the standard of equipment used in wave competition. The EVO project headed by Scott McKercher changes the way you think about wavesailing and wave boards.

When the EVO was first introduced at the 2003 PWA event in Vargas, Starboard team riders used stock standard EVO boards.

Scott McKercher, # 5 in the world of wavesailing:
"Now we've come up with a board that is so easy to sail, yet has an extreme performance to it as well.
These are the reasons why I use the EVO's and would recommend anyone to take one for a spin to get to the next level of wavesailing."

FREE FORMULA

The FreeFormula range is the performance key for recreational racers looking for versatility in their light wind board.
These boards have been totally reworked to utilize the latest results from extensive Formula development. For the first time, the FreeFormula shapes are even shorter than the full race Formula, reducing swing weight and offering an especially lively and responsive ride, yet maintaining enough nose area volume by thickness to cater for effortless tacking. The new Free Formulas provide a real fun, fast, crisp ride with a softer touch and more forgiving feel than the Formulas. Optional inboard straps allow easy strap access, or outboard for maximum leverage. Jibing is easier than the Formulas, aided by lower rails, a more curved tail section and chamfers, but it still involves foot pressure to get around. Once initiated, the board glides easily through the jibe and exits with full speed. The 2004 Free Formulas add an enhanced dimension to your light wind sailing.

FORMULA

Ever since the original Formula was introduced in 1999, Starboard have paved the way with class leading designs year after year. The results could not be any clearer: simply put, no other brand can globally claim as many Formula Windsurfing medals over the last half-decade.
With such a heritage, as direct descendants of the original Formula 155 (1999-2000), the dominating Formula 175 (2001), the 100cm wide X-186 series (2002) and the innovative ultra-compact Formula 147 (2003), the Starboard development team now introduce the new flagship 2004 Formula series.
